First Room

A small child's first room of their own, in sage, mustard and soft white, with morning sun across the floor. Everything is at their height: a bed they can get into by themselves, shelves they can reach, and a wardrobe they can dress from.

The pieces

The Sofi floor bed takes a 90 × 200 cm mattress and sits low to the floor, with a raised guard around the head end and low sides. The Sofi play shelves, in the toddler size, keep toys and books in open compartments at floor level. The Sofi wardrobe is just over a metre tall, with a hanging rail, open shelves and two drawers, sized for a child rather than an adult.

How to get the look

• Paint a shape rather than a whole wall. An arch behind the bed or a panel behind the wardrobe gives the room a focus.
• Keep the palette soft and warm: sage, mustard, cream and the honey of Natural ply.
• Put things where small hands can reach them, and fewer of them. Open shelves make tidying up part of the game.
• Plain birch and simple shapes date more slowly than themed furniture.

Sizes and finishes

The play shelves also come in a smaller infant size. Every piece is cut, assembled and finished in our Dubai workshop when you order it, usually in 10–14 working days, in Natural, Sand, Smoke or Snow. If your space needs a size we don't list, ask us: it is often possible.
