RenderConcrete & Grain
Board-formed concrete, black steel and a shaft of afternoon sun.
A double-height warehouse loft with board-formed concrete, black steel windows and a long shaft of late-afternoon sun. Here the ply goes darker. Smoke and Sand are translucent stains, so the grain still shows through and the pieces stay warm against all that concrete.
The pieces
Under the mezzanine stands the Jeffrey Lungo in Smoke: 200 cm long, with four open arches, a shelf in each, slatted ends and short legs. The Zoe cabinet has a corner of its own, in Sand. Under the window wall, the Sammy credenza at its longest, 220 cm, in Smoke, is a low media console.
How to get the look
- Choose Smoke or Sand when a room is cool and hard. They are stains, not paint, so they warm concrete without hiding the wood.
- Keep the pieces long and low. They hold a big volume without crowding it.
- Repeat a shape. Arches, circles and straight slats read well against a grid of steel.
- Bring soft texture in at floor level, such as a jute rug, bouclé or an olive tree, so the room isn't all edges.
Sizes and finishes
The Jeffrey also comes in a 150 cm Regular size, and the Sammy in 160 cm. Every piece is cut, assembled and finished in our Dubai workshop when you order it, usually in 10–14 working days, in Natural, Sand, Smoke or Snow. If your space needs a size we don't list, ask us: it is often possible.
The room is imagined and rendered. The pieces in it are rendered from photographs of the real pieces, in the finish named; tap a piece to see photographs of the real thing. The Smoke and Sand finishes are rendered from our finish samples. Ask to see a sample before you order.
